Dr. Deepak Sharma
Prof. Deepak Sharma worked as Director Students Welfare of MPUAT and Professor / Principal Investigator in the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (Rajasthan). He has 38 years’ experience of teaching as well as conducting research & extension activities in the field of New and Renewable Energy Sources. Prof. Sharma is recently nominated as Expert Member in the National New Biogas Plant Appraisal and Evaluation Committee (NBPEAC) constituted by the Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. Prof. Sharma has guided 8 Ph. D. scholars, 22 M Tech students, and has also attended two-weeks International Seminar on Gender and Energy at Kathmandu, Nepal (2006); World Renewable Energy Conference (WREC) at Bangkok, Thailand in 2009 and at New Delhi in 2008.
He received the Netherlands Fellowship Award in 2003 to visit The Netherlands for study on energy management and cleaner production in small and medium scale industries. Dr Sharma was nominated as Member of the Academic Council of MPUAT, Udaipur during 2004-06, received Commendation Medal Award (2005-06) of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers, honoured with Rajasthan Energy Conservation Award – 2017 by the Department of Energy, Government of Rajasthan. Dr Sharma is Governing Council Member of Solar Energy Society of India (2019-2021), and has served the engineering profession in various capacities as Life Member/Fellow Member of many International / National professional bodies.
